It's not really the water that might be in there now, but also the water that 
keeps getting in every time you drive on wet pavement that's the problem. If 
your hose is still good then you will never see gas running down the inside 
fender wall when you top up the tank.

The best thing to do is to remove the gas gauge sender and look down there 
with a flashlight.

You CAN remove the cooler with the engine in the car, and that's what I 
would do. It is difficult, but not as difficult for most of us who don't have lifts, 
etc, and lots of experience at this, as pulling the engine is.

If you are worried about the oil cooler seals you should email me for my 
cooler seal FAQ. Unless you already have it.

You can, or you can just tie it in place with a rope, or just leave it there. As 
long as you support the rear end of the AT (which you MUST do) the TC 
won't fall out.

Before you start to put the engine back in, you MUST make sure the TC is 
all the way engaged in the AT. When it is all the way in, there is no part of it 
that sticks out past the face of the bell housing.
