[T3] Preparing for engine removal - was: Questions concerning fuel injection...
<x-flowed>Well, as it last stood, it was revealed to me that I probably have a bad
fuel pump relay, my TS's and PS are fine, and I might have water in my fuel.
With regards to those things, I will test the relay after me and a friend
take out and reinstall my engine on Monday (things are scattered around
right now unfotunately). As for the fuel, I sure hope not. The overflow hose
looks fine. I'll add some dry gas if the problem persists.
Now for more questions. Ready?
1) There is a thin line of rust around the top inside of my filler neck. Is
there a test to determine if there is enough rust in the fuel to cause
problems?
2) I am dropping the engine out because my oil cooler nuts and bolts are
frozen together and it seems to not be sealed correctly (I have heard about
adjusting the pressure relief but I really would feel better if the cooler
were re-sealed). Any thoughts on the care and feeding of the cooling system?
(not really sure what I'm asking here)
3) My friend says there is a special strap that will be necessary to keep
the torque converter from causing problems during engine removal. Can I make
one of these?
Thanks in advance.
