I went to a VW show this weekend and picked up a used Pressure Sensor (#311 906 051E). Wow it was only 5 bucks, I thought for sure I was going to pay. When I go home hooked it up and the condition is the same. I ran the car and warmed it up then I connected the new sensor and attatched the air temp sensor. The hesitation on exceleration is still there and when I remove the temp sensor, no hesitation at all. I guess it is possible that the "new" pressure sensor could have failed in the same way as mine, but it seems unlikely. So, I will have to look elsewhere for the problem, at least till I can get a 'known good' pressure sensor, just to try.
