wow... ok , now i don't feel so foolish anymore (i just asked the same question a couple of days ago John!) and i have to pipe in that after driving our newly purchased 69 fasty (my first type 3 after years of type 2 as well) i can only say Well Come! This is a Sweet little engine. And a Joy to drive. Wouldn't dream of replacing her now that i've gotten inside and roadside with her. Fast, Responsive, Clean, and smooth... or maybe i just found a nice one. BTW, did i mention that Francis had the original German Spare in her when i popped the hood? Oh yea, and the "cutting out" question that i'd asked about has turned out to be a bad starter/sol which i will replace this weekend with a new bosch i got today. The FI is FINE. ;) no really, FINE! or was that Fun? yup. shin 64 westy poptop 69 fastback (yay) Jim Adney shared: >Welcome John, > >We get this question a lot. The simple answer is NO. It won't work. The type >1 engine will burn up in there. The cooling air flow system is completely >different. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
