<x-charset iso-8859-1>Another possible contributor to seemingly fuel pump woes is the fuel itself. My '80 Vanagon (FI) had intermittent fuel problems. If I replaced the fuel filter, the problems went away. Eventually I talked to someone who worked at a gas station, who clued me into the differences between formulations at different stations. The problem completely went away when I stopped going to one particular brand of gas (Beacon). Worth a try to isolate the fuel it self. Fill it up at one of the expensive places, rather than a cheapo place. Jeff '67 Sqbk, the garage is cleared out! and ready for the Sqbk. only 817 more messages (of 1200) to get through!
