[T3] was: Compression Ratio Recommendations, now semi-hemi heads

<x-flowed>well, after 20 years of running semi-hemi berg heads, someone I know finally tried something different. he went with standard chambers and 9.0:1 CR... his assesment (remember, he was a semi-hemi advocate) the 9.0 was a great street set up, easier to tune and he gets better mileage! why is this?

Flame travel is more complete
He could run reasonable timing on the car: 30 btdc rather than 42! The carbs are much easier to tune as well.
He gets more HP for his buck, yet his oil and head temps are the same.
The motor is just more efficient.

Semi-hemi will work, but so will a single pict 30 carb on a 2386cc motor... but why would you do it when there is something better?
