?? You are measuring 12V right at the injectors? I think the brain sends only about 2 or 3V to the injectors. I believe they'll burn up at 12V.

Yeah, the manual is on the way now. The only thing I have to go by now is
Muir's FI system diagram which is not very helpful.

I find Muir's FI diagnosis routine to be pretty helpful. Spend an afternoon going through it step by step, with the right wiring diagram in front of you, and you will learn a lot. You really do need the Bentley for the right diagram. Note the FI wiring varies somewhat by year, but Bentley covers this. Another good resource is the VW/Porsche FI manual by Elfrink. There were two editions: one published in about 1971 I think, and the other in about 1974, which you would need if you have a 72 or a 73. Both editions of the Elfrink are long out of print, but I have heard of copies surfacing out there. Maybe on eBay? I found mine at a local used book shop.
