<x-flowed>Now, maybe I'm being overly simplistic here, but don't early cars route the 
brake lights through the turn-signal switch in order to make so that the 
turn signals still flash when the brake lights are on?  Couldn't a failure 
in the turn signal switch cause both problems?  I know I've gone through 3 
since I've had my square.  1 wore out, 1 melted(my fault) and I'm on my 3rd.
