Re: [T3] electrical problems.
<x-flowed>On bugs only the early cars routed the blinkers, and brake lights through
the turn signal switch. This was done on cars that do NOT have a seperate
bulb for the blinker. My 63 for example has a seperate bulb for the blinker,
and the turn signal switch only has wiring for the turn signals itself, it
has nothing to do with the brake lights. My 59 euro had blinkers and brake
lights routed through the turn signal switch
If a TIII did the same then yes its possible for a turn signal switch
problem to kill both blinkers, and brake lights. I was under the impression
that all TIII's have a seperate bulb for the blinker, so I dont know that
the brakes would go through the blinker or not. Just check out the wiring
diagram, and that will tell you if the brake lights are routed through the
switch or not.

Now, maybe I'm being overly simplistic here, but don't early cars route the
brake lights through the turn-signal switch in order to make so that the
turn signals still flash when the brake lights are on? Couldn't a failure
in the turn signal switch cause both problems? >
Today My turnsignal switch stopped working and my brake lights! I didn't
blow a fuse. My emergency flasher stilll works. Can a failure in either one
cause the other not to work?
