Re: [T3] 72 fasty update-OE fuel line source?-Cleaning fuel pumps?

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Al,

You definately want to change out all the fuel lines. Mine looked in good shape, so I only replaced the ones where I was working at each step. Once the remaining old ones got wet with fuel and some pressure in the lines, they began to leak one at a time. I had to fix these on the side of the road to avoid fire. Much easier to take care of it now. If you haven't actually cleaned the tank go ahead and do it. There may still junk in there that will loosen when you fill the tank.

The fuel pump is easy to get apart and clean. 4 screws, just note the correct position of the large washer between the two main parts. Once the little "pins" around the shaft are out, there is a hole just shoot it full of b12 til clean.

I got my OEM style fuel line at my VWFLAPS.
