Should they be glued first with something? Did you just get the friction linings so that they now have to be attached to the shoes? If so, attaching them takes a special rivet press. If you have the press, I think this is easy and the rivets will be fine. Most linings are bonded (glued) to the shoes these days. In my opinion this is better because you can wear the shoes down farther without damaging the drum. Linings are only bonded OR riveted, not both.
