<x-charset iso-8859-1>Well, I AM a lightsider but I dont mind performance upgrades if done properly but I hate to see people just spend lots of money and time and get nowhere.. Stock engines, FI or carbs are 65HP... you wont get any more if you put different carbs on it, bigger or not and Id be very surprized if Jack Raby would say so. Putting a header on it MAY add just a wee bit of added HP, say 5HP IF combined with more carburation but you dont need to change out the solex's to get more fuel in the engine. VWT recently did an article on the increased HP of the performance exaust... its uses actual data and worth a good read. So... if you notice more power with the new carbs its because the old ones werent working properly... maybe youd notice 5HP., I know I dont... and for me anyway it wouldnt be worth all that work, but as you say if you keep the old ones you can always go back... just record your gas mileage before and make note of change after. keith > just like a little more power available than the > stock solex's can provide> Is your boss reading your email? ....Probably > Keep your messages private by using Lycos Mail. > Sign up today at http://mail.lycos.com > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe > > </x-charset>
