They were installed by Volkswagen AG, but they were installed just like
they would be at a dealer. They were installed off the assembly line, in
a seperate department, after the car was already built.
I don't remember seeing any come into the dealers that I worked for with
AC already installed. And I installed most of them at the dealership I
worked for.
