I have an early 72 fasty vin ending in 4334. Bought from original owner. Engine NEVER changed out. It has a U code, and has the timing sticker for the 72 5 deg spec. I think X code was mid to late 72 and 73. If you are getting the info from Muir, close it.... I find that book has so many more contradictions about T3s (well, T2 also!) in Bentley and the rebuilding aircooled engines (the red one), which covers t3 pretty well from engine r and r to reinstall. Bentley is a staple so far, though.
