journal on the crank should not be out more than
.0012, it's hard to use plastagage on a volks case but
not impossible. Depending on the use (race-loose ,
endurance-tight) determines what clearance to put on
the crankshaft for oilling. On the case if you can
hang a fingernail on the bearing ridge it needs to be
worked on
