He could, but that brings up a whole different can of worms, as others have 
pointed out.

Potential problems: dipstick/oil filler tube, temp sender boss, rear mount 
crossbar (if after 68), distributor drive gear, etc. This just very quickly gets 
into a level of detail that takes it way beyond a quick & easy swap.
