I bought the car...my wife drove it a couple of times, perhaps three, then it blew a plug right out of the head. I took the motor out, and inspected everything, and decided to put in a new long block, as the motor looked pretty tired. With the exception of the heads which were fairly new...someone must have really overtightened a plug. The original motor didnt sounds bad, and it ran ok...was leaking oil from about everywhere though. Unfortunately I dont have the details on what the idle was...what the timing was, etc on the original motor. It could have run exactly as it does now. The other part of the problem is that this is my first type 3 ever, much less one with FI...so I have absolutely 0 experience with how this motor should sound/run. If I dont get anything back from python on the remanufactured pressure sensor, I will likely yank mine out to see if there are any VW part numbers on the outside anywhere. Drake 72 square FI and now a 63 bug too that I a picking up today...its actually rust free...in the true definition, the the definition that everyone seems to use when they are selling an old VW where rust free=no holes bigger than a softball ;) _________________________________________________________________ Join the worldâs largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
