Audible clicking is usually a sign that the VR is dying. They don't last forever. > i have already burned out a generator with the green spark syndrome....so i > replaced the VR and it was fine for a long time, now all of a sudden its > doing the green spark thing again..... I'm not sure what the green spark thing is. Some sparking is normal, and green is a color that copper sparks can make. If it is sparking a lot, then this may be caused by a out of round commutator, but if the generator was rebuilt not too long ago then this seems unlikely. I would just replace the VR with a genuine Bosch.
