[T3] Low power until the engine warms up

I have been reading the series of posts for people with rough running engines/power loss
because I have been having a similar problem. The engine lacks power until it warms up
to operating temperature. That takes about 15-25 minutes depending on the weather. This
post is a little lengthy, but I have looked at everything I have the means to to
eliminate possibilities.

To start, here is what I know about the car:
I have a 69 SQBK with a 72 FI Engine/Manual Trans. The dizzy is single vacuum advance.
>From the earlier posts I double-checked my tune-up specs. Points OK (48 dwell), Timing
Good (5 ATDC). Valves OK. Idle 800. Running Voltage 13.8V, Fuel filter changed, fuel
lines replaced throughout. Gas tank clean of rust/debris. Overfill hose cracked, but
not missing. Temp Sensors I & II check-out okay according to Bentley specs.
In mid-Feb the car was running on two cylinders so I took it to a mechanic, the wiring
from FI brain to Trigger points would ground out and was repaired. They tested the
compression (115 all around), fuel pressure at idle (28psi) and running voltage (13.8V).

I think this problem has been intermittent with the car for a while, but other larger
problems have been more apparent (aka running on 2 cylinders). Last fall, the car would
loose it's top end power and/or buck on occassion, regardless of warm or cold engine.
It's less intermittent now, but absolutely dependent on the engine temp. If I try to
accelerate too quickly it will bog down and backfire sometimes. Also, if I try to press
the accelerator in neutral it will do the same thing so it seems to be indepent of load
on the car. After 5 minutes of driving I can get to 20mpg in 2nd, after 10 minutes to
22-25mph and after 20 minutes to 35mph, which I assume is near normal.

Thanks for reading this lengthy post. I searched the archives and read that temp. sensor
II (mine read 4.5k at 32F) can be intermittent but that the sensors read 0 or infinity
when they are broken.

Thanks. Jim
