Hi Craig When I used to work in a body shop some years ago, we used to use a torch to soften the underseal just enough to use a scraper which would get about 95% of it. Then followed that with lacquer thinner, acetone, or some other type of solvent cleaner. This worked very well and was preferred over a wire wheel or brush. The wire wheel made a bigger mess and the wire brush seemed to gum up. However, remember there was no real enjoyment here except when done. Very cost effective too. It been awhile since then, and perhaps there are some good solvents that will accomplish the same thing with less hassle, which I hope there is. If you go with a solvent, make sure there is plenty ventillation, wearing a good mask is always advisable, and good gloves to keep the solvents from getting into the pores of the skin. This may sound scary, but with the proper care taken, we got the job done fast and results were very clean.
