<x-charset iso-8859-1> Thanks everyone for you help in allowing me to get my wife's 70 fastback running. However although I replaced many things and got it to idle sufficiently to drive, I never solved the problem and sense that its beginning to occur again. There are 3 clues: 1) Terrible Gas Mileage: about 150 miles on a tank (this is FI, Automatic) mostly highway driving. 2)Hard start. Stalls first couple of times I start it 3)Occasion miss after its warmed up. Also: blows alot of smoke on startup which I believe are the valve guides, but I'm wondering if that condition, left untreated for several years, could be having an effect.
