Today, as I was coming back from the pet store with bags of goldfish, The
throttle cable slipped out of the pedal!  (DOH!)

You see, the spot where the throttle cable hits the throttle body sticks at
rest.
Time eventually wore down the metal where it fits into the pedal.

I jimmy-rigged it to get home, but will need a new cable. Luckily we have a
nice vw place down the street that should have one..

My question for the big giant head is...

Whats a good way to lubricate the throttle ?  I tried slathering engine oil
on it (as I was pulled over on the street, muttering curses) and working it
in, but it didn't work... how do I get oil deep in there, where it counts?
