I don't think it can need anything hi-tec, as my camper just has a split pin with the broken end of the cable hooked through the eye to extend it enough to make up for the missing end. The normal heater cable clamp holds the pin. It only needs to pull it; as the spring on the valve in the heater box returns it to open when the cable is relaxed. The metal inner part of a connector block would be good enough to extend a broken cable as much as was needed; each screw could grip the wire adequately I would have thought. Dave.
