I have "repaired" heater cables before when I couldn't get the right ones. If
the cable is too long, get an extra pair of cable connectors. Cut the cable
in an area above the transmission. Overlap the 2 ends through one of the
extra cable connectors. Adjust for the length needed, and tighten down the
setscrew in the connector.
If your cable is too short, cut the ends off an extra cable and do the same
thing.
I think the "Set screw" connector you have is like the ones used on the rear
seat outlet cables. They would work too if you have some.

PS- Peter, I have a '66 heater cable that came with my my '66, but I am going
to need it. It does have the parts tag still on it. If you need the part
number, I can get it for you.
