It sounds like a lot considering that you're buying a lot of new parts for him, so there is little cleanup/fixup to do. If he puts this together over a period of a month or so, then it might be good. If he manages to do it all in an afternoon then you might as well be buying from GEX. In the end, the decision is yours and you're also in the best position to judge him. > so, nix on the external oil cooler as well? i have a 48 plate cooler > and i don't know if it really does that much good. anyone have > numbers to support either way on a type 3? i have a thermostat to > return to engine when cold that i could use. Again, why bother? The stock oil cooler is adequate to keep the engine from overheating (as long as all the cooling tin is properly in place!) The gut feeling that more cooling MUST be better is inherent in ALL of us, but it's just not true. OTOH, it's a myth that just won't die. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
