[T3] how should I go about this

Hey all,

I been on the list for a while, but unfortunately my
car hasn't been running for a while either. Well it is
time, it is time for the engine to be rebuilt (was
once before, but mechanic screwed me), time to fix
that rust (fender rust, and surface rust else where).
The only problem is that I am very scared to take it
too the wrong shop. I have been screwed over very bad
before, and I don't want it to happen again,
especially since I am having bodywork done. The other
problem is I live in Virginia (US). I need advice of
people that have gone through this process of dealing
with body shops and mechanics. I think I have found a
place for the mechanics, but I have never dealt with
body shops. I really want this to go as smooth as
possible, so I can make it to the Type 3 show!! If
anybody has any small advice or great shops they have
used please let me know. A little about the car, 69
fastback, stock FI 1600, fender rust, and with out
taking anything off body looks to be in great shape
(no rust), does need a new paint job, can hold off on
the interior work. I would be willing to buy a turnkey
engine, really what the car to be a daily driver.
Thanks again for the advice.

Grant
