I think that's part of the cause. The package tray under the rear window is rusted a bit as well, and the drain tubes from the vents by the windows were clogged. The body rusted from the inside-out in that area, so I had a new corner built by a body shop. Actually, they kind of pop-riveted metal in the generic shape of the other side, then slathered it all with bondo. :-( Is there any such thing as a body shop with some pride in craftsmanship these days? > I have seen type 3s with this section rusted badly and then torn as > the engine dragged the sides down.
