To answer your initial question, no. I'm thinking the whole assembly wasn't balanced for one, and I agree with Keith P. that the endplay wasn't/isn't set properly. I've run with a lightened flywheel in my 2.0 and never had an operation issue with it. The only issue I did have with it was shifting! You really gotta shift quickly and it sure does hone one's double-clutching skills :-) I'm back to a stock flywheel and am happier. I would recommend the lightened flywheel to a race-tweaked engine but not to any street driven car.
