[T3] Notchback diary, pt. 2

Hello-hello, 2 weeks into the rustoration and I've discovered a serious rust
eaten spot in the inner fender well, front wheel driver side where the PO
bondo'd about three or four handfuls (for lack of a better word) into where
the lower edge of the inner panel meets the pan. They smoothed it over
nicely, probably the only good thing to say of the job, but it sealed in a
good amount of rust and now I have nothing from below the firewall around to
where it meets the heat exchanger, both inside or out.. 2 questions: what is
a good source for sound, adequate sheet metal stock for fabricating repair
patches? What is the proper gauge to use? Next question: what is the profile
of the inner panel where it meets the pan, is it rolled under in a sort of
bullnose or is it flat and flush with the pan? The other side has a flush
appearance, I'm afraid that it's also a bondo glop under it all. There's no
pan seal or gasket present on the pan, I assume that went with the original
sheetmetal. If need be, I guess I can get some stock from Eastwoods, but are
there any Ghia, Bug or Bus panels that I can use to make some patches? TIA,
David Walters
