>Does this dizzy have vac advance only? If so, is it the right dist for your carbs and is it connected to them properly. If you're not getting any advance, then the engine will run very poorly. Yes, it's an all vacuum dizzy, but I'm not sure what year it's off. It may have come from my '68, as I fitted Dells and an 009 to that. The vacuum is working properly, as far as I can tell, and it's connected up right. It was me that had the problem with the vacuum port on the carb being blocked with carbon, so I'm quite intimate with that side of things! One of my books (Autobooks) suggests timing FI engines to 0deg, while the TC engines are set to 7.5deg btdc. Elfrink shows max advance to be 28deg btdc. Bentley doesn't help much, as it only deals with FI, of course. The car definitely ran better with the timing a bit more advanced, so it would be nice to be able to get it right. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
