Well... this is WHY the Bentley says NOT to!
I cant guarentee thats the problem but the fact is that the length is now
WRONG and you may have the wrong travel and not be fully engaging the master
or fully releasing it.

Problem with changing the rod length is that even if it works afterward,
with the wrong travel you may lose ALL your brakes if one circuit goes out
rather than have the backup which is the safety feature of the tandem system

Remember all... Brakes are a SAFETY system... if the manuel says NOT to do
something with them... DONT DO IT!!
Your life and that of your passengers depends on it!!
