When I tried to start it, I found that the fuel pump was froze. I then pulled the pump, cleaned out the gummy gas, ran it off the car to test it, and then reinstalled it. I then primed the FI system by hot wiring the pump, hit the starter, and it fired right up. It blew all kinds of crap out the exhaust. I still has the same plugs that were in it 15 years ago. I am still fighting the dirty gas tank. (have washed it out once.) I need to do a Por15 treatment to the gas tank. I am still getting a lot of rust out of the tank, and plugging fuel filters. I dont't bother with the genuine VW filter, I use just a standard 5/16" fitting inline filter. They are alot cheaper, and you can get them at your local parts store. I get mine at work, because we make them by the thousands, and all I have to do is ask for some. I think I have 20 of them in the front trunk. :=] I rebuilt the master cylinder, replaced the front brake pads, rebuilt the rear wheel cylinders, and replaced the center brake line. Oh, and I replaced the tires, but the shop didn't replace the valve stems. I had to take it back and have them replaced (for free) because they were leaking. I had told them that the car had sat for the 15 years, and they didn't put new ones in when the replaced the tires.
