The acid is absorbed into a kind of wick that holds it in place in spite of its position. Gates makes a series of cells in sizes similar to flashlight batteries that are like this. Sold under the trade name Cyclon, they are used in some battery packs for portable power tools. I have a lawn trimmer that has a single Cyclon D-cell in it. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
