If you have seen one of these differentials apart, you would understand why. The pinion shaft is not on the centerline of the ring gear. It is offset way to one side. Therefore the gear teeth angle is quite extreme. Use of GL-4 will destroy the gear in very short order. BTW, slightly off topic but T-3 related. I was watching "Junkyard Wars" the other night. The US/British junk off. The trophy they gave the winners was made with a T-3 pinion shaft as the verticule portion. A waste of a T-3 automatic.
