NOS just means New, Old Stock, as in never used, been sitting on 
the shelf a long time. It need not be German, or even VW. I agree 
that the Brazilian air intake bellows are not of the same quality as 
the originals. I take care of, and hang on to, my  OE German 
bellows.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to assume that you 
can just go out and buy a good replacement for any given part on 
your car. Some parts are simply not available, some are not 
available except in 2nd rate quality. NEVER throw away old parts 
unless you are SURE that you have new ones installed and tested.
