I think what he was getting at here is to fool your air temp sensor into
sending better air temp data to the ECU, if in fact the air temp sensor is
bad. That sensor is just a variable resistor that changes resistance with
temp. The resistance generally drops as the temp rises. There is a figure
in the FI document on Toby's site that shows the temp-resistance curve for
both temp sensors. Cold, the resistance is around 300 to 500 ohm for the
air temp sensor. Hot, resistance should approach 100 ohm. You can measure
this easily.

pressure *sensor* or did you mean regulator? If you tweeked the sensor, all
bets are off on getting it right again unless you can get it back to the
factory setting. Unless you really know what you're doing, I think most
would agree that it is best not to monkey with the pressure sensor -- ever.
If you tweeked the regulator, I'd get it back down to 28psi.

Are your trigger contacts clean and uncontaminated? Fuel filter clean? Gas
tank clean? Bad grounds? Double check the ignition components (points,
plugs, wires, timing, etc.) are all adjusted right.

1. That information on Toby's site will be very helpful - what is the
address to his site?

2. I was talking about the SENSOR. I understand your fear about tweeking the
sensor. I have read a couple adjustment procedures for this and Yes if you
do not have the correct sensor in the tailpipe to monitor you could screw it
up. It took me all of 15 min and about 1/2 a turn to see the result I
needed. Ð No more hesitation when you put the pedal down. I took note of the
base setting so I could bring it back. My fuel pressure is right on.

3. Yes all is clean in trigger land, fuel filter, tank, etc. etc. Really I
don't have any problems with overall running, good idle, power, smooth Ð it
is just when I really push the car on the HWY with Heavy Hill Climes, stop
and sit for a couple of minutes and then proceed, that this problem occurs.
The Hotter the weather the more it seems to effect it as I remember.
