>In Madison, Wisconsin, USA: A car that looked like a Rabbit (Golf), labeled "Brazilia" but clearly, and surprisingly, built on a type 1 pan with a type 1 engine in the rear. There's also the Gol. I think later w/c versions made it to the US (the Fox, perhaps?) but early versions had a T1 motor at the front, mounted backwards i.e. with the pulley at the front, and a somewhat Porsche-style fan-housing containing a small plastic fan. The fan faces the front, so gets ram-air to help it. The body was in the generic Mk1 Golf/ Rabbit Passat/ Dasher style. There was one for sale at VW Action here in the UK a few years ago, but it's the only one I've seen. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Pitch in!
