It's a pretty unkind torque to put on a 1/2" breaker bar and adapter though.
For re-torquing, the split pin has to go through the holes (there is a
choice of two - don't overtighten because you can't see the other hole!).
This leaves less choice of 'how tight'. I stand on a bathroom scale with a
5' long bar and reckon to make myself weigh about 50 lbs less (kinder than
being the other side and weighing 50 lbs more) to get 250 ft.lbs. As it
gets close, the hole in the shaft lines up with a pair of slots
('crenolations' I suppose) on the castle nut.
