It's possible that your early type 3s are enough different from the ones I'm familiar with that this is not a problem later on. Which wiring harness do you mean? With the left front fender removed you can see the main wiring harness -- at least up through 1965 but I think later also. It emerges from the rocker panel, runs up next to the hinge pillar, and enters the under-dash area near the fuse block. There are grommets in both places where the harness passes through the body. Somehow enough water got into the area between the fender and the leading edge of the door to leak at this seal (while driving at about 25 mph during a heavy SoCal downpour) . > BTW, I found a VW publication from 1964 that identifies likely T3 > leak points and how to seal them. Perhaps you could scan it and send it to Greg for inclusion on the vwtype3.org site. It sounds interesting and useful. I'd be glad to scan it if Greg could put it on the site. 20 pages, dated Sept. 1964. It has the encouraging title " The Elimination of Body Leaks on the Volkswagen 1500." Some of the information is specific to the early cars. Scott 62 343, 65 361 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Pitch in!
