Re: [T3] Fastback Troubles...engine still missing - update

<x-charset iso-8859-1>First off... random miss is much more likely the ignition than the FI...
dont fall into the trap of blaming the FI until you know for sure your
ignition system is fully functional.
Fuel dampners can look mighty rusty, and they can rust through, but until
then they wont fail internally... paint it up with some POR 15.

Random missing caused by the FI is limited to a few things... bad ground
connection, dirt in the trigger points (symptom is USUALLY a breif total
cutout on 2 or all 4 cylinders... or a quick jerky loss of power), a bad
head temp sensor (usually a total cutout for a second or more), or a loss of
B+ somewere earlier on but again it would cut out completely for some
period of time.

Idle speed is a simple air bypass to the throttle valve.. adjusted with that
screw valve. It should be capable of 1200 or more RPM... unless that bypass
orifice is plugged, its real simple so if your unable to get the idle speed
and it is making a difference by adjusting the screw then the pressure
sensor or the hose to it could be bad.
