RE: [T3] More Cold Start Question?

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Ok then. Thats the plan for the weekend. Might explain why the car still
starts running very badly after driving on the highway. Always starts
cutting out just when I get by the Arch and pull off the highway to
downtown. I always just figured it hates downtown St. Louis as much as I do
but it might be junk in the tank at this point. I'll take it out and clean
it again and fix/replace those lines.

Thanks Jim, you da man when it comes to VW.

The smell is just the insignificant tip of the iceberg. Of course there
is also the environmental side and the cost of gas which spills out,
plus the chance of your car going up in smoke due to someone's
carelessly tossed cigarette.

The biggest problem is the water and dirt that is thrown into the
tank when you drive in the rain. This can damage or destroy the
tank, pump, injectors and pressure regulator, all without your
realizing that it is a problem.

I have taken a couple of quarts of water out of tanks of cars which
still ran (although poorly) and the owners had no idea that water
was the cause and gas smell was the symptom.
