Its not as uncommon as we might think to change a VIN #, especially in the
old days, for cars that were stolen or totalled or other reasons... the
pro's could do it so that a real intense inspection would have to be done to
discover it. That is the most likely reason for a 315 number to appear on a
Fastback... or perhaps it IS a prototype... And I would find that REALLY
unlikely but then again car #2 was just found...
