You can swap in the whole gauge cluster, or just the meter part which removes easily from the back of the cluster. Consider the latter because there may be some minor appearance differences in the faces. > BTW Jim, I believe I saw a previous thread saying you repaired > speedos, the '72 speedo head odometer(w/tripmeter) quit working, > what's the cost to have this repaired(I'd really like to have the > tripmeter working)? Yes, I can generally fix these, and the charge is $55 including return shipping in the US. This is a common problem and the fix will repair both the regular and the trip odometer. I can't do any restoration of the appearance of the unit, but I will clean it up as nicely as possible. If you want this done, email me off list and mail me the speedo along with a check (or you can use PayPal.) There is some chance that the problem will be something I can't fix; in that case I will return your uncashed check and the speedo in its original condition at my own expense. So far, I've never had to do that. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
