    I've got a black faced one.
    I've got the gages from my '73 FB parts car(already swaped the speedo 
head), I'll swap in the gage cluster this weekend.
    BTW Jim, I believe I saw a previous thread saying you repaired speedos, 
the'72 speedo head odometer(w/tripmeter) quit working, what's the cost to 
have this repaired(I'd really like to have the tripmeter working)?

I've never seen one of these get sticky, but you seem to have
narrowed it down pretty well. I think your best bet would be to just
replace the gauge unit with a good one. I have several of them here.
A 72 could have come with either black or grey faced gauges.
Which do you have?
