First off, Jim Adney is right... additionally there are 2 kinds of leaks, standing and running. a standing leak will show up when the car is out in the rain and not driven, a running leak needs to be driven, sometimes in a driving rain on the highway. Most of us should probably rip out our carpeting and off with the tar mats if there loose, then look to see if and where anything is coming in after (or during) a heavy rain. then drive the car in the rain if possible and look. if not on the road you can simulate to some degree with the hose. There are ALOT of places our cars can leak, some of us know of them all and some need to learn; but for our cars to have longevity they MUST NOT leak. I have and 87 Golf that seems to leak from every place so Im about to have to go through a whole new leaking...er.. Learning curve in the coming leaks... er Weeks!
