Mark, You are correct if you are turning the dist./rotor 90 deg. Make sure the dist. is turning CLOCKWISE. You want to keep the engine internals moving the same way they normally do, so all the gears mesh the same as they do in normal operation. Start out with the timing mark on the pulley at the case seam and the dist./rotor pointing at the notch for #1. Then turn the dist. 90 deh\4 ey 180 deg.) and you are ready for #4. Turn the dist. 90 deg. (pulley 180 - the timing mark will be back at the seam and the dist. will be 180 out from the mark for #1), and you are ready for #3. 90 deg. more on the dist. (180 deg. for the pulley) and you are ready for #2. Then continue on around to #1 again just for good measure. It helps if you have a mark on your pulley 180 deg. out from the timing marks. I put one on mine when it was out for the rebuild. Look for the solid bridge between the "tabs" on the pulley ~180 deg from the marks. Then paint/scribe/whatever a mark in it. Hope this helps. -- Justin C-ya@tmgbbs.com http://tmgbbs.com/cya '95 CBR9 FeRRari red (now) w/ '93 bodywork '71 VW Squareback brum@mwilson.freeuk.com wrote: > > Can you help...cause I really want to go to RTTS this weekend if I can't get > things fixed its off for me... > > I have had a go at resetting my valve clearances, I have fitted new HT > leads, new points.
