The sponsoring organization was something like American Street Volkswagon something. Probably about 30 cars there. Only 2 Type 3s: one NICE award winning fastback, a bit tricked (I lean toward stock). The other was a kind of crunchy square that was painted Chevy orange. Of course, it was Tennessee & there was another nicely done Type 1 there that was orange & white with Volunteers propaganda all over. Also one of those Typ2 dual cab truck things that I see all over Brazil & think "wouldn't it be cool to have one of those in the states." Another neat Type 2 that was "mini-vanned." As much as like stock, this was quite cool. About 2 & a half feet sliced out of the middle & lowered--never seen anything like it. Also met a fine gentleman named Tom who responded to my inquiry about shows along my trek back from SC to IN telling me about this one. Great guy with an extremely nice tan type 1 (a tan I'd like to paint my square), also one of the heaven-bound redeemed. I mentioned awhiŠTÈ I was looking for a two tone scheme for my square & haven't found much luck. I was trying to fit the type 1 two tone onto the square & it just wasn't looking very good. I bought a back issue at the show with a nice 2tone square picture that I just might copy with my own colors. If anyone wants to see it let me know & I'll email you a scan. Also scrounged through all the VWrags to see if I could find anything helpful about our new 343. Out of ALL those magazines I only found one with an article about them. It was simply a history of.
