Well, I didn't get to the SW VW Jamboree in Prescott, AZ <sic>. I was disappointed, but Deathlean (aka Deathrich) is starting to *really* get 'good' mileage. 29.5mpg, *around town*! Not so good. So, needles to say, I didn't want to schlepp up 'the Hill' like that. So I walks into the VW FLAPS on Sunday, all depressed, and I pick up my induction tube hoses, and ask for intake manifold gaskets. Round and round, these t KíÓ l ones ought to fit... 'I heard from my buddies online that the FI intake gaskets are different. Sort of a bakelite substance with paper on either side.' The monkeys stare at the fat old freak on the other side of the counter. Then one of them very patiently starts thumbing through a book, and low and behold! There, in a dusty corner of the parts store are these two bakelite type gaskets with paper on either side of them. The monkeys are shocked. Chalk up another one for vwtype3.org! Started dating a lady of late. She installed the window in the back of my Variant; by herslef, deftly and quickly. She's smart and pretty, too.
