My comments below... Somehow I manage to be a fan of both the Corvair (I learned to drive in a 1960 Corvair 700) and of Ralph Nader. I think that it is important toLW and that while his stated target was the Corvair swing axle, Ralph's real target was the blatant disreguard which GM displayed at the health and safety of the US public. The unfortunate part was that it was not just GM. Well said! Ralph Nader has always been something of a dichotomy for me. On one hand, he was the catalyst for tremendous reform in the auto industry. He brought about really sincere changes in the engineering of the industry. On the other hand, he directly had a hand in killing the 'Vair (one of my best buddies in HS had a 66 Corsa, Turbo 4-spd - though the turbo was tough to keep working). And indirectly killed the air-cooled VW's. He also did away with tailfins, or at least made them a millstone. Some of you might not like 'em, but they make me all woogly inside. Oh well. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
