Use platinum plugs if you want. But I'd recommend staying away from specialty plugs. A note of caution. After a fresh, stock, rebuild on my Type II, I installed a set of Bosch platinum plugs ($5.00 each!) thinking that this would be a nice finishing touch on the new engine. After 1000 miles, the engine was running poorly. After checking everything else (couldn't be those nice new plugs) I pulled the spark plugs. One was completely missing the center platinum electrode and a second one had a piece of the center electrode broken off. The platium piece only extend about 6mm into the ceramic nose, and this appeared to work loose and fall out on one of the plugs. I've become a fan of NGK. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
